Japan gives $10 Million aid to Myanmar

TOKYO - Japan said Friday it will give 10 million dollars to help victims of the devastating cyclone in Myanmar.

Japan will channel the 10 million dollars through international organizations including the UN World Food Program, a foreign ministry statement said.

The money is in addition to 570,000 dollars in assistance already pledged by Japan to provide emergency goods such as tents, blankets and electric generators, it said.
